Having a BSNL mobile..

BSNL - Bharat Sanchar Nigum Limited

Today only, one of my friend shifted to BSNL from idea. (an Idea can change ur mobile number). I overjoyed, though I am not a brand ambassador of BSNL (and don't want to be one, as I think I will feel uncomfortable with Deepika - in BSNL advertisements, due to height difference.) I found very few people - especially students - with BSNL mobile number around me. So I feel good if someone is having that!

Before 3 years, I had chosen BSNL as my service provider for my Mobile. It has been more than 1000 days of non-stop (just to say) service, offered by BSNL..and I would say that I have no complaints (but my buddies do have!!). Mine is a prepaid mobile, and during college time, I used to have my account balance in 4 figures (surprised??)! 'They' were offering double talk time to the amount of recharge..like 1000 Rs talk time from 500 Rs recharge..! So I was like, "Money? No problem, mobile full of that now !". and sometimes, the balance was more than net value of my N16 phone!! Hey, wait a minute, don't you be under an impression that I was not "using" my phone. My mobile was like P.C.O. - nyone can call nyone, nywhere, nytime! There were times when I used to talk to
someone for hours, or till the painful death of my mobile battery. That time BSNL's 111 (BSNL to BSNL free) scheme was a bliss!! (Now, out of those 3 things* mentioned, only my mobile battery exists).
It is generally observed that BSNL mobiles always have some connectivity issues with Reliance mobiles. Messages delivered after hours, cant make calls from BSNL to RIL numbers sometimes..I never understand the logic, why is it like that? I sincerly believe that Anilbhai should do something to improve RIL network - at least try n achieve high standards set by BSNL.
A few months back, a new feature called "National Do Not Call (NDNC) registry" is introduced by BSNL, to avoid unwanted calls. Good. Now you can avoid unwanted calls. But, the Problem is - how to avoid calls and messages publicizing this "NDNC" feature itself on your mobile?!? I am thinking of registering "NDNC" as unwanted user in "NDNC" itself!!
Since last 4-5 days, I am very much annoyed by receiving blank calls from a BSNL mobile.(when I say "Blank", it obviously means that I couldn't figure out who's at the other end - male or female!). It's certainly no advertisement calls. Sonny showed a concern onto this and was wondering if any chance of the caller being a "Terrorist" !!! I was thinking of saying "Assalaam Vallecum" instead of "hello?" next time, but quickly learnt that the caller cant be terrorist - as they don't use (and cant afford to use)BSNL !! Otherwise there will be "network errors" every time in their communication during attacks, and would have never succeeded in any serial blasts.
Sometimes I am frustrated by network errors and Network busy signs on my Phone. My best friend doesn't get my messages due to BSNL's pathetic service and I have to justify myself sometimes - many times. My Mobile doesn't show network in the busiest areas of Amdavad, and sometimes in my room. Sometimes I call it as 'Bakwas Service, Network "Limited" '.
But, I am proud to say that I am a BSNL Mobile user. BSNL best hai mere liye. Let people say nything about BSNL, I still love it. I dont know why!! (you dont need a reason to love anyone... :P :P )
