Dreamcatcher
Yet another dream -
- a superficial, multi-dimensional extension of his mind body and soul, flirting with the boundaries and at instances - completely twisting the reality. All of that; and a crude mixture of imaginations, inhibitions, desires and nothingness. A vivid and elaborated portrayal of a guilty pleasure.
Yet another dream for him, she figured as he smiled while asleep. She was just there, just yet - all awake.
How would she know what was he dreaming about? She knew him now, inside out. She solved him eventually; in spite of what he was - a jigsaw puzzle with countless pieces and with thousands missing. She wasn't sure it would be easy. She wasn't sure it was ever possible.
Above all, she wasn't sure was it worth at all.
She had solved him eventually though, as she had all the thousands of pieces missing in him fit in seamlessly and perfectly. That had changed everything for him. Her comfortable presence put an end to his misery, end to an endless strive for completeness and transcendence, exhausting journey towards the light at end of the tunnel, endless nights and days of insomnia and self-pity fighting with his natural instincts of fantasizing about his idealistic world.
That had changed everything for him, eventually - him, and his vision, aspirations, desires and his very soul. And finally, that night became a reality. Her tireless efforts made this to happen, and he unknowingly and eventually fell for it – a sweet trickery to lure him away from his incompleteness and more closer towards his fantasies and dreams.
She stood there waiting - waiting by looking at him calm in his deep slumber to fantasize about something complete, which she wasn’t now – after an unfair exchange to make him complete. She waited next to him, just right there; for him to chase his fantasies, a dream he could never ever have.
She stood there keeping him away from the malign forces which gathered around him and within him causing troubles. She stood there watching him dreaming about someone perfect, a dream after another – a painful sight. She had chosen to stand there till the sun rose for him, which none of them knew when, only to disappear at the dawn.
She became his dream catcher, so that he could watch his favorite dream again and again.
